THE STYLE COCKTAIL|A DELICIOUS MIX OF BRANDED AND THRIFT.

What to Wear in Monsoon? | Rainyday Fashion Guide

Monsoon is officially here so is the struggle!
What to wear, what not to wear. But fret not, here are a few ways you can have the best of this season! Don’t let the rain bring you down!

FABRICS

Keep away from heavy fibres like linen, knits and pure cotton. These fabrics take long to dry and end up feeling very feel heavy. Avoid this by using light fabrics like blended cotton, nylon and chiffon.

KEEP IT SHORT, SILLY
Opt for thigh or knee length clothes over long ones. Monsoon is the perfect time to show off those legs. Best to avoid long dresses or pants as they tend to get soiled along the lengths.

Personal favorites:
Formal Shorts and Blazers for work
90s tee with an A Line Skirt

FOOTWEAR

Let your feet breathe! Use footwear that does not tend to keep the water in. Avoid shoes as they soak in the water and become really heavy, causing your feet to smell.
Flipflops, strappy sandals, gumboots work well. Replace your heels with wedges or  flatforms.

Personal favorites:
     Grunge Studded Stappy Sandals
     Strappy Neutral Flatforms

COLOURS

Avoid whites and light colours, unless you want to hear your mom rant about it!
Light colours tend to become transparent when they are wet. If lights cannot be avoided, make sure to wear a camisole inside.
Opt for dark colors or neon tones for the funk factor!

Personal favourites:

     Black ofcoursre!      Tangerine Red

TRENCH COATS/UMBRELLAS
Trench coat, more like a fashionable raincoat! These will help keep the layers beneath dry.
You can also opt for funky/transparent umbrellas to protect save yourself from wet and greasy hair.

Have a fashionable Monsoon :)
